Round 2 of Madden ’12 Cover Contest Begins

Today marks the beginning of Round 2 of a tournament that will determine the new face of the Madden franchise. The contest can be found on ESPN’s website.  Last week’s winners, which can be seen above, include favorites Aaron Rodgers, Phillip Rivers and Michael Vick.

There are some dark horse entries also, including New York players Hakeem Nicks and Mark Sanchez, as well as people who have no chance (I’m talking about Peyton Hillis).  Voting for the next round ends on April 3 so if you are a fan of the New York “Football” Giants like myself, vote for Hakeem Nicks!  Just a pipe dream I know.  The contest seems pointless unless a dark-horse candidate wins because Rodgers or Vick are easy choices, but Madden ’12 with Sam Bradford on the cover, now that is bold.  Regardless of who is on the cover, I hope Madden developers work more on improving a game, that’s had less luster year after year.  Madden will be out in August, regardless of if there is an NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement or not.
